Nicole Terrizzi has devoted her life to equity in opportunity, beginning her career as a Teach for America teacher in Kansas City and spending more than a decade collaborating with local, regional, national, and international organizations. She has worked as a fundraiser, grant writer, and consultant to nonprofits, corporations, and foundations, and is passionate about ensuring students have access to the resources and skills necessary to their ongoing success—from highly-effective instruction in the classroom, to career-based experiences and mentorship supports, to opportunities to explore their passions in music, art and beyond.
Nicole is originally from a small farming community in Northwest Iowa, has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than a decade, and recently moved to the Pacific Northwest with her family. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri St. Louis, where she received her Master’s in secondary education, and Simpson College, a small liberal arts school in Iowa, where she majored in English and journalism/mass communications. Nicole’s hobbies include solo travel, numerous park visits and hikes with her partner, two young children, and dog, and reading creative nonfiction whenever she has a spare moment.
She is the author of the memoir, Learning in Freefall.
